The Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) Service provides the mental health service response for those with complex needs arising from:
Dementia
Psychosis
Complex or enduring depression and anxiety disorders.
The service includes:
Memory assessment service, and link in for people to receive support following a diagnosis of dementia
Fast track assessment for people within the community requiring assessment by the mental health service
Supplementary mental health interventions within existing care arrangements in the community
Fast track assessment to support care within other settings
Care management of people requiring ongoing mental health service intervention due to the complexity of their mental health needs.
The aim of the service is to provide timely psychiatric assessment and intervention to promote recovery and wellbeing for people with more complex needs arising from their mental ill health.
Access to this service is primarily via GP referral.
